Weather slow to improve over the weekend, but just in time for the eclipse

The rain is over and the wind has relaxed, but it remains cloudy and breezy. From all of the rain, river runoff has prompted flood warnings for the Pawcatuck, Wood and Pawtuxet rivers in Rhode Island, and the Taunton in Southeast Mass. Rivers should crest sometime on Friday.

Friday may briefly begin with sun but the clouds push back in by the afternoon, with perhaps a sprinkle. Saturday is shaping up to be the most unsettled day of the weekend, with mostly cloudy skies and afternoon/evening showers. Sunday will be drier, but still mainly cloudy and breezy. Highs will be in the 40s each day.

Of course, all eyes are on Monday for the eclipse – and the forecast could not be better with ample sunshine across New England! Highs will also be near 60.
