Wellfleet Police investigating pedestrian death after crash

WELLFLEET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Wellfleet Police Department said it was investigating the death of a pedestrian after a crash on May 24.

Officers responded to Ocean View Drive in the area of Long Pond Road around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian lying down in the road.

The victim “appeared to have been struck by a vehicle” and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victim was identified as a 25-year-old male from Florida.

The suspect vehicle was not at the scene when police arrived and was believed to have fled.
