West Greenwich man facing federal gun charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A West Greenwich man is facing federal gun charges.
Walter Garbecki, 37, is facing federal charges of possession of firearms by a felon and receiving/possessing of firearm silencers not registered.
According to prosecutors, Garbecki was associated with the purchases of at least seven firearm parts used to assemble ghost guns.
A search of his home resulted in the discovery of four fully functioning ghost guns, two in various stages of assembly, three silencers and roughly 1,500 rounds of ammunition.
Investigators said that Garbecki has been previously convicted in the state on several gun charges and drug charges.
