West Greenwich man seriously injured after being hit by truck on Massachusetts highway

ANDOVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A West Greenwich man is facing life-threatening injuries after being hit by a truck on a Massachusetts highway early Tuesday morning.
Massachusetts State Police said the man was hit just before 1:30 a.m. on Interstate 495 north at exit 99 in Andover.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was initially conscious and told troopers he had run out of fuel, police said. His car was parked in the breakdown lane.
The driver of the truck that struck the man remained at the scene while police assisted.
State police said the victim was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
