West River Street Bridge in Providence to temporarily close starting July 12

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said that it will temporarily close the West River Street Bridge starting July 12.

RIDOT said the closure will last approximately four months to repair the “structurally deficient” bridge located between Branch Avenue and Charles Street.

The department added that it will install a temporary traffic signal at the intersection of West River Street and Charles Street to assist the detour.
