West Warwick man found guilty of sexual assault
WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said that a West Warwick man has been found guilty of committing first-degree sexual assault against a female victim in 2021.
29-year-old David Waters was found guilty of one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of cyberstalking and cyberharassment.
Neronha said that Waters was accused of sexually assaulting a female victim who was known to him on July 12, 2021, before cyberharrasing her in August.
Waters sent the victim hundreds of text messages referencing the sexual assault and threatening her and her family.
Neronha said waters is currently being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions pending a sentencing hearing to be scheduled on a later date.
