The #DStrong movement has made such a big impact on one West Warwick middle school that the kids decided to get involved. The entire student body at John F. Deering came together Wednesday to make sure Dorain Murray’s name is known all around the world.

The students at John F. Deering Middle School in West Warwick don’t know Dorian Murray personally, but they heard his story and decided to take action.

"I wanted to help him and support him," said Elijah Calzada.

Dorain, who is from Westerly, has terminal cancer. The 8–year–old westerly boy’s dying wish is to become famous. To the student body at Deering, he already is.

"He seems really brave," said Moses Nicolau.

"We admire how strong he is and how he really touches the heart of people," said Mya Lemery.

The kids want Dorian to know they have his back, so the entire student body, made up of more than 1,000 people, planned a way to send him a message.

"That DMS loves him," said Samantha Rosa.

They wrote it on posters, and then, with a little help from their teachers, pulled off a class photo for the ages.

"I think it’s a very mature thing of them to be thinking about someone else and thinking beyond their own things," said Deborah Perrotta, who teaches the 6th grade.

Dorian will be able to see the photos on social media. The students at Deering hope it will bring a smile to his face.
