West Warwick Police search for suspect in car theft

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – The West Warwick Police Department have obtained an arrest warrant for a man wanted for allegedly stealing two cars.

Police said they are searching for 40-year-old William Mackenzie after he was identified during the investigation.  The thefts happened between December 26 and 27.

Mackenzie is out on bail after being arrested by Providence Police on December 22.  he was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

West Warwick Police said Mackenzie has no permanent address and usually stays at hotels throughout the state. Mackenzie is said to have ties in Providence, Pawtucket, and East Providence.

The cars were stolen from the Speedcraft Nissan/Acura dealership on Quaker Lane while the business was closed.
