West Warwick school employee accused of inappropriately touching pre-K student is on leave, parents say

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A West Warwick elementary school employee has been placed on leave after being accused of inappropriate behavior.
In a letter sent to parents Monday, Principal of Maisie E. Quinn Elementary School Jared Calise said the school was made aware of the allegations last week.
Tuesday night, a meeting was held between school officials and pre-K parents of the school to discuss the incident.
A parent inside the meeting told ABC 6 News that officials did not share any specific information and but said it was a male teacher who inappropriately touched a pre-K student. Officials told parents this investigation could take months.
The Maisie Quinn employee was immediately escorted off school property, said Calise. The name of the employee is not being made public at this time.
An investigation is underway by the school district and West Warwick Police Department, and DCYF.
