Westerly Police officers rescue injured bird

WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Westerly Police Department said officers rescued a bird on Post Road on Aug. 4.

Officers responded to Post Road near Shore Road on the night of Aug. 4 for reports of an injured bird.

Police were able to find the injured Osprey and bring it back to the station.

Rhode Island Environmental Police took custody of the Osprey, which police said will be cared for at a wildlife rehab.
