Westport man dies in Tiverton motorcycle crash

TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A Westport man was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday in Tiverton after he lost control of the vehicle.

At approximately 5:02 p.m. Sunday, police responded to Route 24 North and found the operator of the motorcycle, Michael C Lees, 27, suffering from serious injuries.

Lees was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River and was later transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to their investigation, police say that Lees was operating the vehicle in the area of exit 4 at a low rate of speed and lost control as he changed lanes.

The accident is still under investigation by Tiverton detectives.
