Westport man on parole arrested on drug charges

Police say John Oliveira, 55, was arrested after parole officers doing an authorized search found cocaine and a large amount of cash in a toolbox.
Police were called and obtained a search warrant where they found $11,300 in cash, over 46 grams of cocaine, a large amount of morphine pills, oxycodone pills, suboxone pills and “suboxone strips”, alprazolam pills and several marijuana cigarettes.
The street value of the all the drugs was between $11,000- $13,000.
Oliveira was charged with Trafficking Class B Cocaine in excess of 36grams, Trafficking in Class B Oxycodone, Trafficking Class A Morphine, Possession of Class B suboxone (subsequent offense), Possession of Class C Alprazolam, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
Police say trafficking cocaine in excess of 36 grams but under 100 grams is a minimum 3 ½ year -20 year Prison term Felony.
