Westport police seek help in finding hit and run suspect

WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) – Westport Police are seeking the public’s help in finding and identifying a suspect in a hit and run incident earlier this week.
Police say they responded to a crash on Route 88 north of the Drift Road intersection around 4:50 p.m. They found a black pickup truck in the woods with damage to its driver side doors.
Police determined a silver sedan attempted to pass the pickup truck and started to skid. The sedan was unable to pass the truck because of cars coming in the opposite direction, so it crashed into the side of the pickup truck, forcing it off the road.
The two occupants of the truck, a 44-year-old man and his 10-year-old son, were transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Westport Police ask anyone with information about the operator or location of the silver sedan to call the Department at 508-636-1122. The incident is under investigation.
