Wet and windy Friday ahead, slow improvements over the weekend
Cloudy skies will continue through tonight, with rain and wind picking up after midnight. The heaviest rain will arrive early Friday morning, which will lead to over an inch in spots.
The worst is over by noon, but the wind will still be howling throughout the day and could gust as high as 50 mph.
We are also looking at some minor flood issues, both coastal (from Thursday night and Friday morning high tides) and river related – the Pawtuxet and Wood rivers are likliest.
Expect only minor improvements over the weekend. Saturday will be mostly cloudy and breezy, with a leftover sprinkle. Sunday will be better with sun and clouds, and warmer too, near 60°.
After a few showers Sunday night, Marathon Monday looks superb with ample sunshine and highs well up into the 60s!
