What we should expect to see in the 2024 legislative session

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) –The Rhode Island General Assembly announced that Rhode Island is to begin its 2024 legislative session Tuesday afternoon.

Both chambers’ sessions will be live streamed on the General Assembly website.

According to the Boston Globe, the General Assembly will discuss various topics in its 2024 session, some of which include views on gun control, Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights (LEOBOR), housing bills, and funding for The R.I. Department of Education.

Next week, the House will meet Tuesday and Wednesday, and on the week of Jan. 16, will resume its regular schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Senate will meet weekly on Thursdays.
