What’s new at the Bristol fourth of July Celebration

It may be the 227th edition of the Bristol 4th July celebration, but there's plenty that will be new.
Ray Lavey, Parade Vice Chairman has worked hard to make this year's version of the celebration as vibrant as the others. He says they have 21 floats. There's a new float prepared by Raytheon. The company is in the parade every year, but this year they've made a new one.
Organizers of this year's celebration are also proud to have a strong representation of America's Armed Forces. Gary Wetzel will be in the parade. Wetzel is a Medal of Honor Recipient. He is accompanied this year by General Mike Flynn, who is the Assistant Director of Intelligence.
An added attraction that will turn a lot of heads at the parade is the newly crowned Miss USA, who is making her homecoming to Rhode Island. Olivia Culpo from Cranston, won the Miss USA title last month. It was the first time a Rhode Islander has won the pageant.
Organizers also say the bands will be bigger and better than ever.
