Wind Advisory for Southern New England
As low pressure leaves and high pressure takes over, things are going to get turbulent across Southern New England. We’ll have very gusty winds today– so much so that there is a Wind Advisory in place from 10 AM Thursday until 10 AM Friday. Gusts could get into the 30s & 40s, with some nearing 50mph.
This wind is the “wind of change” to boot, as it’s driving cooler air from the north into the region. This will create an “upside-down day” effect, where our temperatures actually get lower in the afternoon– yikes! We’ll be in the low to mid 30s by midday, feeling like the 20s when the wind kicks up.
Overnight, it will stay windy with lows around 20 degrees. We’ll wake up windy on Friday, though we will have plenty of sunshine. Highs will only be in the low 30s!
Saturday the wind finally dies down. We’ll have a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid to upper 30s.
Sunday is tricky! We’re keeping an eye on a storm that could deliver some snow showers to Southern New England through the morning and early afternoon. We’ll keep you posted on how this develops!
