Wind and cold Valentine’s Day before another messy storm this weekend
After a sunny and blustery day for Valentine’s Day, yet another messy winter storm is on tap for the weekend.
Saturday will be dry for most of the daylight hours, just on the cloudy side.
Snow showers will start to develop after 4pm, becoming steadier and heavier around 7-8pm.
Snow will remain the type of precipitation through midnight for all before beginning to mix from south to north.
1-4″ will accumulate before the changeover. Sleet and some freezing rain will take over and linger towards dawn.
I think this will be more of a concern for CT and Central Mass, but folks in northern and western towns in our area could be waking up to some ice Sunday morning before temps rise above freezing and we transition to rain across the area.
I am surprised a winter advisory has not been issued yet, but it will happen by tonight or tomorrow morning.
A very cold airmass builds in for President’s Day and will be with us for much of next week.
