Winds howling on Halloween for Southern New England!
While there are some treats in this Halloween forecast, there are some tricks too!
We have a StormTracker Alert for this afternoon through early Saturday morning as winds kick up around Southern New England! Expect speeds in the teens and even 20s, while gusts could get as high as 50 mph, particularly along the coast and in high elevation areas. Otherwise, we’re looking at a bit of mist & drizzle, a stray shower possible, in the first half of the day. We’ll get some breaks of sunshine here and there, though clouds will return in the afternoon before breaking up again. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s, and it will stay mainly dry for trick-or-treating!
Tonight lows will be in the low 40s and clouds will gradually clear out, leading us to a progressively sunnier start to Saturday! Saturday morning will still be quite windy, but winds die down in the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the mid 50s. Overnight, lows will be in the 30s so bundle up if you’re headed out late Saturday night or early Sunday morning! Sunday will be less windy with sunshine and highs in the low to mid 50s.
Monday will be mostly sunny but clouds increase in the evening and we could see a shower or two largely after midnight. Showers continue Tuesday morning, tapering off in the early afternoon.
Stay safe, and have a happy Halloween and Halloweekend!
