CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) – A Providence woman had a $100,000 lotto ticket in her drawer for almost a year and didn’t even know it!

Lottery officials say she claimed her prize this week on her “Holiday Wishes” Instant Ticket.  It was in her drawer this whole time, unscratched.

She says her birthday is July 24, so she thought it was a good sign when she saw the number 24 on her ticket.  Sure enough, it was the last number scratched on the ticket revealing her $100,000 prize.  She plans to buy a car with her winnings.

The ticket was sold at the Smith Street Geko in North Providence.
