Traffic was moving slowly Monday afternoon as the snow continueed to stick.

Several spinouts have already been seen in the area and the storm is only just getting started. Rhode Island Department of Transportation says they’re ready for it.

The DoT says they have around 400 plow trucks ready to go and another 400 state vehicles and private vendors ready as well.

The director of DoT says at times, this intense storm will fall faster than crews can keep up, but they’ll clean up the roads as fast as they can.

“[Tuesday] is a ‘hunker-down’ day. Give us a chance to get plows out there, clean out the roads, and we’ll be fine. By the end of the week we’ll be fine.”

And even though we had dwindling salt supplies last winter, officials assure us we’re good to go for this storm.
