Winter festivities at Warwick winter festival

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — There was a festive atmosphere in Warwick for the third annual Apponaug Winter Festival on Dec. 6.

The event drew a large crowd to the village to see the city’s holiday parade, as well as visit local vendors and food trucks lining the parking lot of Warwick City Hall.

Performances by local elementary schools inside city hall, Santa setting up shop to ask children what they wanted for Christmas, and the city hall’s new Plaza Ice Rink rounded out the festivities.

Following the parade the rink took center stage, with crowds testing out the new ice.

“Me and my cousin are going out there,” Ethan Narducci said. “We’ll see who falls first.”

Mayor Frank Picozzi said that the parade took a big step forward, being twice as long as it had been in the past.
