Freezing rain this afternoon with a freeze overnight
Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 PM. Freezing rain over the sleet and snow we received this morning is terrible news for commuters. Some areas are seeing an all rain evening, the snow will continue over central and northern parts of Massachusetts. All this precipitation should taper of by early tonight. We anticipate a gradual clearing overnight with very cold temperatures. Values will be in the upper teens posing for a freeze of any mix or rain leftover from today’s storm. Wednesday and Thursday will feature dry weather with plenty of sunshine and cold temperatures in the upper 20s. Morning wind chill values will be in the single digits. We’re tracking the potential for more snow on Friday and Friday night. As of now details are uncertain. Colder temperatures filter into the region by the weekend with values from low to upper-20s Saturday and Sunday respectively with subzero wind chills in the morning. Drier and seasonable temperatures in the upper-30s.
