ACUSHNET, M.A. – Crews responded to a call where a woman in her mid-forties was attacked by a dog early Friday morning.

Authorities say around 7:40 a.m., crews were dispatched to Chloe’s Countryside Kennels (CCK), on Leonard Street, in Acushnet, Mass.

According to police the unidentified woman, daughter of the owner of CCK who was volunteering, was trying to separate a large dog and a small dog that were fighting at the time.

The large dog turned and attacked the woman, seriously injuring one of her arms.

Police say the woman was taken via med flight to a Providence hospital, where she is having a tendon repaired.

Animal Control is now investigating, and decided the larger dog will not be put down.

It is unclear what breed the larger dog is.

No word on the condition of the woman, or the smaller dog.
