Woman found dead in Providence, believed to be homicide

Providence Police are investigating what’s believed to be the first homicide of the year.
Officials tell ABC6 they were called to a home on River Avenue around 5:30 p.m. for a well-being check. Upon arrival, they found a 24-year-old female who appeared to be dead and rushed her to the hospital.
The woman’s death is being called suspicious and police say they are treating it has a homicide.
