Woman in custody after allegedly assaulting Pawtucket Police officer

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Pawtucket Police Department said a 37-year-old woman was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting an officer.

Officers responded to Sherman Street around 5:30 p.m. for a keep the peace call.

The department said a “disturbance” followed and the woman assaulted an officer.

The woman was taken into custody and the officer is being treated for injuries and is expected to recover.
