Woman killed in West Warwick fire

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials said a woman was killed in a condominium fire in West Warwick late Monday morning.

The West Warwick Fire Department said crews responded to Scenic Drive around 11:45 a.m. to find a woman lying close to the front door as the home filled with smoke.

First responders started CPR on the woman at the complex.

She was brought to Kent County Hospital and pronounced dead.

Crews heard reports that another person may be trapped in the home, according to officials, but found the condo was empty after conducting a search.

Officials said no one else was injured in the fire.
