Woonsocket announces Tuesday night water main flushing
WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Woonsocket Water Division announced that it will be flushing hydrants in several areas of the city Tuesday starting at 9 p.m. through Wednesday at 5 a.m.
According to Jeff Corriveau, Senior Water Foreman in Woonsocket, flushing will occur in the following parts of Woonsocket:
- Mendon Rd From Cass Ave to Diamond Hill Rd, Morin St
- Linden Ave from Denby St to Diamond Hill Rd, Atlanta Ave
- Diamond Hill Rd From Mendon Rd to Linden Ave
- Cass Ave From Mendon Rd to Nursery Ave
This includes all side streets in the relevant areas.
Some residents may notice discolored water and lower than normal water pressure during the flushing period.
If you find your water to be discolored, you are advised to run the cold water for a short time to clear the lines and to store clean water while the flushing continues.
