Woonsocket company to donate 9,000 blankets to Ukrainian refugees

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A Woonsocket company is loading up trucks with thousands of blankets to be donated to Ukrainian refugees Friday afternoon.
The Brickle Group, a textiles manufacturer, will be donating 9,000 blankets to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. Those blanked will be distributed to help those affected by the war.
“When people need help, it’s on everyone to step up,” said Max Brickle, president at the Brickle Group.
Northwest Woolen Mills, a part of The Brickle Group, will be supplying the blankets.
“From natural disaster response in the USA to refugee relief programs in Afghanistan, Syria and many others, Northwest Woolen Mills has supported many humanitarian assistance programs around the world,” said a spokesperson for the Brickle Group.
The blankets are due to be picked up at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the company facility in Woonsocket.
