WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — School leaders in Woonsocket said a student brought gummies to school that contained marijuana Tuesday morning.

Superintendent Patrick McGee told ABC 6 News Wednesday that the student, who attends Harris Elementary School, then distributed the gummies to other students.

McGee said the students felt sick and needed medical attention. Soon after, the school went into a medical lockdown, which lasted for about 20 minutes.

Parents were called to pick up their child to be taken to the hospital, the superintendent said.
