Woonsocket hit-and-run suspect held on bail
WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A man is facing charges after allegedly hitting a pedestrian in Woonsocket and fleeing the scene on Thursday.
Jared Travers, 30, is facing charges after allegedly hitting a pedestrian and continuing to drive.
Police saying the victim, a 71-year-old, was rushed to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition after being hit.
Travers was arraigned by Woonsocket police Friday.
He is being held on $10,000 surety bail and was transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions.
Police said his court date next week is still being determined.
Residents in the city told ABC6 News crews that they want to see changes to the area before another incident happens, such as adding more lighting and a speed radar.
