Woonsocket man sentenced, multiple counts of child molestation

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE)- A Woonsocket man has been sentenced to 14 years on multiple counts of child molestation, according to Attorney General Peter F. Neronha.
Alexander L’Esperance, 53, sexually assaulted three male victims under the age of 14 at his apartment on Park Avenue in Woonsocket.
In court, L’Esperance entered a please of nolo contendere to three counts of first-degree child molestation.
On Tuesday, the Court sentenced the suspect to 25 years at the ACI, with 14 years to serve and suspended with probation for the rest of the sentence.
The court ordered a no contact order between the suspect and the victims.
L’Esperance is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, must attend sex offender counseling, and is subject to community supervision requirements under state law.
