Woonsocket Police arrest 2 after traffic stop

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Woonsocket Police Department said a man and a woman were arrested on Nov. 8 after a traffic stop.

35-year-old David Kennedy was charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of a firearm without a concealed carry permit, possession of a firearm while delivering a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (convicted of crime of violence), and conspiracy.

50-year-old Malda Tykes was charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of a firearm without a concealed carry permit, possession of a firearm while delivering a controlled substance, and conspiracy.

Police said the two were stopped on Holder Lane for a seatbelt violation.

The officer who performed the stop alleged that 1.31 ounces of crack cocaine were visible in the door panel of the vehicle.

A later search of the vehicle allegedly found 2.2 ounces of fentanyl, three pill bottles with unknown pills, $933, a loaded firearm, and a loaded magazine.
