Woonsocket Police arrest male suspect related to shots fired incident

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Woonsocket Police Department said a male suspect in connection to a shots fired incident was taken into custody on Tuesday.

According to police, patrols were looking for a vehicle that was related to a shots fired incident that occurred “earlier in the week.”

On Tuesday, police discovered the vehicle and attempted to stop it, which resulted in the driver fleeing into the woods.

Officers were able to catch the male suspect and place him into custody.

He is charged with obstruction for fleeing.

Police have not yet released the identity of the suspect.

The initial incident is still under investigation.
