Woonsocket Police said one man is dead after a stabbing

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Police said one man is dead after a fatal stabbing in Woonsocket on Saturday evening.

At 6:11 p.m., police responded to 390 Social Street on reports of a disturbance with men fighting.

At the scene, police found a man who was stabbed multiple times, according to Woonsocket Chief Thomas Oates.

The man was transported to Landmark Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Chief Oates said police know the identity of the man killed, but are not releasing it at this time.

Police are currently investigating the incident.
