Police: 3-year-old hit, killed by car in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A 3-year-old boy died after being hit by a car while riding a bike Thursday, police said.

Police responded to Mason Street and Tenth Avenue just after 6 p.m. Thursday.

The boy was taken to the hospital, but died there from his injuries.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

The driver of the car involved, identified only as a 25-year-old man, is cooperating with that investigation, according to police.

The boy’s identity has not been released.
