Woonsocket woman shot in her first-floor apartment

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A woman was shot inside of her first-story apartment in Woonsocket, police officials shared Tuesday.

Officers responded to a Boyden St. apartment on Monday night around 11:33 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

When police arrived to the scene a 22-year-old woman was found inside her apartment, suffering from two gunshot wounds.

The victim was transferred to a local hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police learned that there were several people in the first-floor apartment when two gunman entered and began firing numerous rounds into the bathroom and bedroom.

The gunman fled the scene by car.
