WORCESTER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Worcester Red Sox said the club sold its 500,000 ticket for this season, becoming the only minor league baseball team to do so three years in a row.

The team said Newtown South High School Teacher Paige Perkinson, of Marlborough, purchased the ticket.

Perkinson attended the game with her husband David, eight-year-old son Wiley, and friend Amy McHugh.

WooSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg joined the family when they entered Polar Park.

The team added that fans from all 5o states have attended games this season, with the six New England states having the most attendees.

“It’s a pleasure to meet and welcome so many families who come from all over the region to see the rising stars of the Boston Red Sox,” Steinberg said.
