WORCESTER, Mass. (WLNE) — City leaders in Worcester voted Tuesday evening in favor of trying to negotiate a deal with the Pawtucket Red Sox.

They will now be doing everything they can to convince Pawsox brass it is the right fit.

However, one concern that could not be over looked is the potential cost.

It is important to note that the team had asked the state of Rhode Island for $83 million to build a new stadium, and Worcester officials know that could be the terms for them as well.

Regardless, the Central Massachusetts community remains excited about the possibility of baseball in the city.
