Work on Route 1 in Plainville continues

PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said it will be performing additional maintenance to address roadway flooding on Route 1 at the George Street intersection in Plainville Friday night.

MassDOT said the work will begin at 9 p.m. and should conclude by 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

The work will require detours as follows:

Traffic travelling in the northbound direction on Route 1 will be directed to take a right onto Route 106, then a left on Route 152, and then follow back to Route 1 northbound .

Traffic travelling in the southbound direction on Route 1 will be directed to take a left onto Route 152, then take a right onto Route 106, then follow back to Route 1 southbound.

Drivers travelling in the area should use caution and expect delays.
