Wrong-way driver, without license, arrested for DUI crash

A wrong way driver was arrested after State Police say he was drunk when he drove the wrong way on Route 6 eastbound and hit another vehicle.
State Police say at around 5:30 a.m. 26-year-old Eugene Rodriguez Barberan of Providence got onto Route 6 Eastbound through the Broadway exit ramp and struck another vehicle.
The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Rodriguez Barberan is charged with DUI, driving to endanger resulting in physical injury, reckless driving, and driving without a license. He was arraigned Thursday in 6th Division District Court and held on $5,000 surety bail. His next court date is May 20th, 2015.
