YMCA camp counselor charged with possession of child sexual abuse material

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police said a Newman YMCA camp counselor was arrested for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material.

19-year-old Ryan Minasian, of Pawtucket, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography.

Members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Minasian after a search warrant was granted when police allegedly detected the files being transferred digitally to his home.

A search allegedly found the files in Minasian’s possession during the search.

Police said the suspect was seasonally employed at the YMCA and that there was no evidence of any inappropriate involvement with campers.
