YMCA Southcoast opening cooling centers ahead of heat wave

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — YMCA Southcoast said its branches will be open as cooling centers during an expected heat wave from July 15 to July 17.

The Fall River YMCA, Gleason Family YMCA, New Bedford YMCA, and Stoico/FIRSTFED YMCA will all be open from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The YMCA said that residents do not need to be members to use the cooler centers, but they will need to check in.
