PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office said a 21-year-old Providence man was sentenced to state prison in connection to last year’s shootout on Carolina Avenue, that injured nine people.

Ricardo Cosme Tejada, 21, entered a guilty plea for several charges, including carrying a pistol without a license and assault with a dangerous weapon with a criminal street gang enhancement.

Police said in May of 2021, Tejada, as well as others in the “Get Money Gang,” drove a pickup truck to a home on Carolina Avenue and jumped out of the car with guns and then firing multiple rounds at “Lakeside” members on the porch of the home.

All the victims in the shooting were between 19 and 25 years old.
