Philadelphia bouncer wanted in deadly assault of ex-New Bedford School Committee member surrenders

PHILADELPHIA (WLNE) — A bouncer wanted in the deadly assault of an ex-New Bedford School Committee member in Philadelphia earlier this month surrendered to police.
Philadelphia police said Kenneth Frye, 24, turned himself in on Thursday.
Frye was wanted on a third-degree murder charge for punching 41-year-old Eric Pope outside of Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar on April 16.
Police said Pope was escorted out the bar for being intoxicated. That’s when police said the 24-year-old punched Pope.
The 41-year-old then fell to the ground and died a week later from his injuries.
The ABC affiliate in Philadelphia reports that Frye wasn’t employed by the bar. He worked for a private security company.
