State upholds Providence’s decision to revoke Revel Lounge’s liquor license

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Revel nightclub in Providence will not get its liquor license back.

The lounge had its license revoked by the Providence Board of Licenses back in December after a string of shooting inside the club, as well as a deadly shooting outside the establishment in late August.

Revel appealed that decision but on Thursday, the Department of Business Regulation denied the appeal, citing “severe security failures” leading to disorderly conduct.
