Convention Center Authority Board to get update on ‘The Dunk’ naming rights

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Convention Center Authority Board will meet Thursday amid talk of a change to the name of the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence.

The convention center authority accepted proposals for new names through early this month.

Dunkin’ has controlled the naming rights of the downtown arena for the past 21 years. It will still be named “The Dunk” until the end of June.

The meeting will be held at 9 a.m.
