Block Island police to give update on alleged sexual assault over 4th of July weekend

NEW SHOREHAM, R.I. (WLNE) — Block Island’s interim police chief is set to give an update Monday on an alleged sexual assault that happened over the Fourth of July weekend.
During a New Shoreham Town Council meeting last week, Police Chief Peter Chabot said there are multiple ongoing investigations being handled with the assistance of Rhode Island State Police.
It was not disclosed where on the island the alleged assault happened.
Monday’s town council meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
