BOSTON (WLNE) — As the dominoes fall for sports betting to become legal in Massachusetts, sportsbooks across the Bay State are gearing up to launch.

A sportsbook is a venue typically inside of a casino, where bettors can place bets and watch games.

The Encore Casino in Boston has had a sportsbook prepared for bettors in anticipation of sports gambling becoming legal.

In Rhode Island, Bally’s Twin River Casino has had their sportsbook up and running since 2019.

Bettors can put in wagers using a kiosk machine. The machine takes cash or vouchers and then will pay out winnings should the bet cash.

Both Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos in Connecticut recently opened sportsbooks of their own.
