PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha and Rhode Island State Police are set to hold a public forum Wednesday regarding the statewide body camera policy program.

The public will be able to review the proposed rule and provide feedback at the public hearing.

Rhode Island put the statewide program into place last summer, aiming to equip every frontline police officer and supervisor with body cameras.

“The widespread use of body-worn cameras by members of law enforcement will be a critical tool in providing the accountability and transparency that both the police and the public desire,” said Col. Darnell Weaver.

Anyone looking to write in comments can send them via mail to Neronha’s office at 150 South Main St. or via email to bwcstatewidepolicy@riag.ri.gov.
